UZ Hover Translator ("the extension") is a Chrome extension whose sole purpose is to translate text a user selects on a webpage. This policy explains what data is processed, where it is sent, and how it is stored.
The extension processes only website content that the user explicitly selects (e.g. by highlighting text, right-clicking, or using the keyboard shortcut). It does not collect:
When a user triggers a translation, the selected text and the target
language code are sent to Google's public translation endpoint
(https://translate.googleapis.com) to retrieve the translation. Only the
selected text is sent — no URLs, page content, cookies, user identifiers,
or other metadata is transmitted.
For text-to-speech playback, the extension uses the browser's built-in
Web Speech API (speechSynthesis). Speech synthesis handling is
controlled by the browser or operating system and is outside the scope of
this extension.
The following information is stored locally on the user's device via
chrome.storage and is never uploaded to any server controlled by the
developer:
